JAXUSA impact report
Excursion | September 2024
The 2024 healthcare industry experience proved invaluable to CLAS undergraduates, providing insights and knowledge into diverse aspects of the healthcare sector that will inspire their future career choices. Students joined Beyond120 and the JAXUSA Partnership for a day-long excursion to Mayo Clinic and Johnson & Johnson, along with other partner companies, in Jacksonville, FL on Friday, September 20th, 2024. As part of this opportunity, pre-health students connected with regional company representatives, explored career options with company representatives, and gained first-hand experience of these two life science industry leaders through campus and site tours.
This visit included a 2 site tours and 2 industry panels.

Students are Saying
“It was so satisfying to hear how geared toward their communities these companies are and how they’re solving issues and barriers to the care that they provide to make their care more accessible. This excursion motivated me even more to want to become part of one of these programs and that’s the great thing about the broader healthcare industry is seeing how many people other than doctors are geared towards the outcome of what they’re giving people in industry angles like engineering and research & development.”
