INTERNSHIPS

Cultivate meaningful professional connections and experience.

“The Beyond120 program made a significant impact on my academic and professional development by providing an enthusiastic network of faculty who advised me on growing through paths like internships. My experience gave me confidence and a better idea of what I want to pursue professionally.”

Learn in a Professional Setting

According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, internships are “a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting”. These experiential learning opportunities expand your horizons and allow you to cultivate meaningful professional connections and experience. Internships can also be part of your CLAS Dean’s Medal application in your final semester.

Whether full-time or part-time, local or remote, semester- or project-based, there is a wide variety of internships available across careers and industries spanning for-profit, nonprofit, and governmental settings. It is never too late to start exploring internship options, but starting early will give you access to the broadest opportunities while also preparing you to apply for last-minute openings. Competitive internship programs and large organizations start hiring interns as early as September for the following summer. Schedule a consultation or email us at internship@advising.ufl.edu

Internships must be at least four weeks in duration to be eligible for credits.

The IDS4940 Application Form must be completed by both the student and internship host supervisor before the deadline for each semester:

  • To earn internship credits in their majors, students must verify their department’s or program’s internship requirements and application process directly.
