Lecturer, Global Engagement

Hi! I’m Dylan, and I’m a lecturer for the Beyond120 program, where I focus on global engagement. I also serve as the director for several of our Beyond120 internship and shadowing programs, helping students gain real-world experience and expand their global perspectives.

My journey to Beyond120 is rooted in my passion for music! I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in music, with a focus on flute performance. So, how did I get here? While pursuing my passion for music during my undergrad, I also gained valuable experience through work-study positions in admissions for the university and the School of Music. This hands-on work laid the foundation for my graduate assistantship in admissions and student services at UF’s School of Music, which ultimately led to my career as a CLAS academic advisor—and now, to my role in Beyond120. I believe that everything you do, both in and outside the classroom, is an opportunity to develop the skills needed for a wide variety of careers. I’m here to help you unlock your full potential, both at UF and beyond!

When I’m not working with students, you’ll find me playing flute with the Gainesville Orchestra and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra. I also direct the Gainesville Flute Ensemble (flutists of all levels are welcome to join!) and currently serve as the program chair for the Florida Flute Association. Outside of music, I enjoy spending time with my partner, two dogs, cat, and snake.
