In the summer of 2023, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to shadow doctors in Pontevedra, Spain for four weeks through the Beyond120 Atlantis Study Abroad Program.

UF students will have the chance to conduct groundbreaking research with top faculty at Newcastle, while students from Newcastle will join labs across UF’s campus. This is a unique opportunity to expand your research experience internationally!

UF students will interact with local university faculty, students, and various immigrant/minority populations in order to gain perspectives on African migration in Central Europe.

This six-week study abroad program aims to guide students towards a deep understanding of global urban dynamics in a uniquely vibrant, exciting, complex and historical metropolis of the Global South: Istanbul.

Through this program, undergraduate students will learn about the rich history of science in France, examine current practical applications of sustainable science, explore cultural differences in science communications in the US and abroad, and build transferrable science communication skills.

This program will allow you to further your knowledge of European life, economy, history, & politics in a highly immersive environment. Through coursework and site visits, you will become more knowledgeable about global problems affecting the Mediterranean – Southern Italy in particular.

Spend your summer learning about the European Union in the heart of Europe. Take advantage of an opportunity to partake fully in student life at Brussels School of Governance (BSOG), an English language international college within the Dutch-speaking Belgian Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).

In Cardiff, Wales, experience and take part in the legal and social transitions of a British and European capital city post-Brexit and post-EU. In this program, students will earn 6 credits.

Travel to East Africa this summer to study the ecology and conservation of savanna ecosystems! For three weeks, you’ll live in some of the most beautiful and wild areas of East Africa, experiencing first-hand the extraordinary biological and cultural diversity of the region. Over the course of our program, you’ll learn about the ecology and conservation of tropical ecosystems, while gaining valuable field experience through participation in scientific fieldwork, conservation initiatives and interactions with ecologists and conservation biologists in the region.

Our program, made possible by the National Science Foundation, is designed to expose students to the rigors of gravitational physics research within a setting that truly reflects its international character. For a period of 9-10 weeks during the summer, participants work on research projects in some of the best gravitational physics labs in Europe and Australasia. During their stay, students also benefit from the valuable cultural enrichment that comes with living in a foreign environment. The program is open only to US residents, and applications for Summer 2024 are now being accepted.

The International Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program is a 11-12 week program based in France. Participants spend their time in a research lab with graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty and staff, working on a well-developed research project under the mentorship of an experienced faculty member sponsored by the University of Florida and funded by the National Science Foundation.
